Frequently Asked questions

Where is the Inn at Spry Point Located?

We are on the south side and on the eastern end looking out on the Northumberland Strait. We are about twenty minutes to the west of Souris and about 50 minutes from both Wood Islands ferry terminal and Charlottetown. We are about 30 minutes from Montague, Brudenell River, Dundarave and Crowbush Cove.

What is the weather like in PEI?

When are you coming...come on do you think we have a crystal ball or something? We are open for the time of year when PEI is worth visiting and the weather is just part of the reason why people come.

What is the local Geography?

The highest point on PEI is less than 500 feet and generally what you will encounter is rolling hills and fields that slope down to the waters that surround us. Red cliffs, green fields, it is idyllic with the "million dollar view" seemingly around every bend in the road.

Do you allow smoking?

Not inside, but there are smoking urns outside of all entrances to the inn for those that choose to partake of a breath of fresh air.

Do you allow pets?

No pets are allowed at Spry Point.

How do "The Inn at Spry Point" and "The Inn at Bay Fortune" Inns fit together?

The innkeeper, David Wilmer started The Inn At Bay Fortune in 1989 and bought the property that is now The Inn At Spry Point in 1999. In 2000 The Inn At Spry Point was constructed with staffing provided by The Inn At Bay Fortune. To this day, you will often find someone working in one location in the morning and them see them later in the day at the other location. We offer breakfast and lunch at Spry Point and dinner at Bay Fortune making it easy for guests to go between the two properties. Our garden crew maintains the grounds at Spry Point and the gardens from Bay Fortune provide flowers and produce for both locations.  Using the staff and resources from both properties allows us to meet the peak requirements at both locations for things such as weddings and dining room service.

Why does CAA/AAA travel guide rate The Inn at Spry Point so high? Unlike Canada Select, CAA/AAA looks at service, not just physical criteria. We provide exceptional cuisine, excellent service and an elegant dining atmosphere with a good ratio of staff to guests.

Is Spry Point fun for families?
Absolutely, the combination of great accommodations and a beach location make everyone in the family happy. Biking, kayaking, walks, dining, beaches, and easy access to the scenic coastal drives allows for a great escape off the beaten path. Good safe warm waters for swimming and just a short walk from your room.
