Breakfast and Lunch
As you open your car door to get out, a refreshing sea breeze hits your face. Surrounded on three sides by water you walk to the entrance and into the lobby with a wall of windows soaring to cathedral ceiling and cupola some 34' above. You are greeted with a welcoming smile and the opportunity to either relax on the balcony with a beverage or go directly to the dining room. Eyes closed, you listen to the symphony of whispering winds through majestic tide and rocks below. Suddenly your senses are interrupted by mouth-watering aromas of the food that awaits you downstairs.
At Spry Point we will have the dining room open for breakfast on a daily basis, for lunch most days, and we open for dinner for special functions, meetings and weddings. Evenings we have made arrangements to serve dinner at our sister property, The Inn At Bay Fortune, an easy ten-minute drive away.
Each day that passes during your stay at Spry Point, our chef creates a new breakfast menu to insure that you are offered the best, freshest ingredients available. For lunch you will enjoy produce and other food from our network of local farmers and fishers. We grow our vegetables and herbs organically at our sister property, and harvest daily. Fishermen call us directly from their boats to say they are on their way in with today's catch. If you arrive during May or June, you drive down Spry Point Road and see dozens of lobster boats on the waters surrounding the Inn. Lobster buoys abound in the Northumberland Strait as far as your eyes can see.
For our overnight guests, we have bar service and a wine cellar to allow you to sit on your balcony and relax. In the morning the smell of fresh brewed coffee drifts up the stairs as you start your day with a continental breakfast of fresh fruit, juice, and our homemade granola. You can follow your cold breakfast with a hot breakfast from our a la carte menu. For the tea drinkers out there we offer an array of teas. As you sit planning your day's events, relaxing on our beach or any of the dozens of warm sandy beaches in the area, you think about the possibility of some golf, or maybe a bicycle ride along the Confederation Trail. We can also pack a picnic lunch to tide you over until dinner.
Some items for lunch include chowders and soups, salads, Panini's, and savouries, lobster rolls, and some sweets. The concept is static, the menu will change daily to work with the seasonal variety that is available to us. A few sample menus are provided to give you an idea of the variety of Canadian foods that we prepare using simple ingredients and resulting in brilliant flavours.
